Pre-Order the new Candlelight Red EP Here

Hard rock with melodic hooks and killer riffs is the style that Central Pennsylvania natives Candlelight Red specialize in – as evidenced by their full-length debut, ‘The Wreckage.’ Comprised of vocalist Ryan Hoke, guitarist Jeremy Edge, bassist Jamie Morral, and drummer Brian Dugan, the group turned heads straight away, by beating out over 10,000 other bands to win the 2010 national Guitar Center “Onstage” contest, which landed them an opening slot for KISS. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS specifically chose the band from among 22 regional contest winners. As a result, CLR had the honor of opening a show for KISS in Pittsburgh in late 2010.

As KISS’ Gene Simmons said of CLR, “Once upon a time, someone gave KISS a chance. We have always believed in giving back. From giving our fans the Hottest Show on Earth to giving new talent a shot. Congratulations to Candlelight Red [on being selected by KISS and winning the Guitar Center’s 2010 'Onstage Contest']. Well deserved.”

Around the same time, the quartet inked a record deal with Imagen Records. Working with Grammy-nominated producer David Ivory (whose credits include working with Silvertide, Halestorm, and the Roots), the band’s Imagen Records debut is ‘The Wreckage,’ which has spawned such popular and radio ready tracks as “She’s Got the Look” and “Closer.”

Subsequently, Candlelight Red earned strong reviews across the board, including the fine folks at welovemetal.com, which raved “CANDLELIGHT RED might be the one great hope: a band that can play to the rock fans and head bang the metal fans.”

And Candlelight Red has consistently proven that they are an exceptional live act, as evidenced by kick ass performances on the Uproar Festival (alongside such popular acts as Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, and Stone Sour), and separate tours with Sevendust, 10 Years, Saving Abel Egypt Central, Lacuna Coil, and Crossfade.

Up next for the band will be an EP produced by Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose. As Rose himself explained, “While having Candlelight Red on tour with Sevendust, I was able to get familiar with their music and build a friendship with some of the band members. So when they approached me with a desire for me to produce them, I jumped at the opportunity. After talking about what our goals were for the recording, we were happy to realize our goals were one in the same. To capture the band’s live sound is the objective, and it’s gonna happen. I’m beyond excited to get these songs finished and out to their fans!”

You can’t argue with the facts – Candlelight Red is one of rock’s most promising upcoming groups, and are off to an incredible start with ‘The Wreckage.’

CANDLELIGHT RED SECURES SPOT ON 2012 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK UPROAR FESTIVAL!

Friday, May 25th, 2012

It seems like Candlelight Red are refusing to take a rest from their breakneck 2012 schedule – in addition to recently issuing their debut full-length disc, ‘The Wreckage’ (and single, “She’s Got the Look”), the band has secured a spot on the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival – which they will start a month after wrapping up tours with Lacuna Coil and Crossfade.

The group will be rocking on one of two “Festival Stages,” which will also include POD, Deuce, Fozzy, Redlight King, Mindset Evolution, In This Moment, and Thousand Foot Krutch. And on the “Main Stage” will be Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach, and Adelitas Way.

Live Nation is the national tour promoter for the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival, and the tour will play more than 30 shows throughout North America during August and September. “We’re really excited about this year’s awesome lineup,” say tour producers John Oakes and John Reese. “It’s incredible to have so many of the biggest bands in rock together with some newer bands that are blowing up. By adding a second stage to the festival area and including even more great talent, we’re stepping things up a notch for the UPROAR fans.”

“Being on UPROAR is a huge honor. To be playing on a tour with some of the biggest bands in rock today is very humbling!” -Jeremy Edge

“This is a tremendous opportunity, a sign of many good things to come for Candlelight Red” -Brian Dugan

Look for tour dates, venues and ticket on-sale information to be announced in the coming weeks.

Hailing from Central PA, Candlelight Red (which includes vocalist Ryan Hoke, guitarist Jeremy Edge, bassist Jamie Morral, and drummer Brian Dugan), has been scoring big on radio and in the hard rock press, as evidenced by a review on welovemetal.com, which raved “CANDLELIGHT RED might be the one great hope: a band that can play to the rock fans and head bang the metal fans.”

Candlelight Red has been steadily expanding their fan base after inking their record deal with Imagen Records in late 2010. The band is already road warriors, as evidenced by recently completed nationwide tours with Sevendust, 10 Years, Saving Abel and Egypt Central. And with their just-announced spot on this year’s UPROAR Festival, Candlelight Red is just about ready to hit the big time.

Sevendust Drummer Morgan Rose To Produce New Candlelight Red EP

Friday, May 18th, 2012

When Candlelight Red recently toured with Sevendust, they automatically struck up a friendship with drummer Morgan Rose. Realizing that they saw completely eye-to-eye musically, it made perfect sense for Rose to produce Candlelight Red – which will soon become a reality, as both factions will work together on an EP.

“While having Candlelight Red on tour with Sevendust, I was able to get familiar with their music and build a friendship with some of the band members,” explains Rose. “So when they approached me with a desire for me to produce them, I jumped at the opportunity. After talking about what our goals were for the recording, we were happy to realize our goals were one and the same. To capture the band’s live sound is the objective, and it’s gonna happen. I’m beyond excited to get these songs finished and out to their fans!”

And CR guitarist Jeremy Edge shares Rose’s excitement regarding the upcoming sessions (which will soon commence at Arkitekt Studios in Butler, New Jersey, with Mike Ferretti serving as engineer). “We are beyond pumped to have Morgan work with us! He is not only one of the world’s most phenomenal rock drummers, He is a guy that really gets what the sound and energy of our band is all about. We are going to have some of the most intense CR material our fans have heard yet!”

Hailing from Central PA, the group (which includes vocalist Ryan Hoke, bassist Jamie Morral, and drummer Brian Dugan – in addition to Edge) recently issued their debut full-length, ‘The Wreckage’ (available for sale via iTunes) and the single/Roxette cover “She’s Got the Look” for which a video was shot for:

And as the band takes the stage during UPROAR, fans should be able to hear the results of the potent union between Sevendust and Candlelight Red!

Monday, March 5th, 2012

Candlelight Red continues their march towards the big time by releasing their latest single, “She’s Got the Look,” and also by securing a string of live dates with Trapt. And the word is spreading fast about the band, as evidenced by the fine folks at welovemetal.com, which raved “CANDLELIGHT RED might be the one great hope: a band that can play to the rock fans and head bang the metal fans.”

Hailing from central PA, the band (which includes vocalist Ryan Hoke, guitarist Jeremy Edge, bassist Jamie Morral, and drummer Brian Dugan) recently released its first full length CD, ‘The Wreckage,’ issued via Imagen Records and overseen by Grammy-nominated producer David Ivory.

Right out of the gate, CLR has been turning heads, as the group’s lead-off single from ‘The Wreckage,’ titled “Closer,” reached #42 Mediabase Active Rock with wide nationwide radio support including strong spins at Octane for over six months. And earlier, CLR beat out over 10,000 other bands to win the 2010 national Guitar Center “Onstage” contest, which landed them an opening slot for KISS. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS specifically chose the band from among 22 regional contest winners. As a result, CLR had the honor of opening a show for KISS in Pittsburgh in late 2010.

As KISS’ Gene Simmon said of CLR, “Once upon a time, someone gave KISS a chance. We have always believed in giving back. From giving our fans the Hottest Show on Earth to giving new talent a shot. Congratulations to Candlelight Red [on being selected by KISS and winning the Guitar Center’s 2010 “Onstage Contest”]. Well deserved.”

Candlelight Red capitalized on this victory and on their exploding regional buzz by inking a record deal with Imagen in late 2010. The band are already road warriors, as evidenced by recently completed nationwide tours with Sevendust, 10 Years, Saving Abel and Egypt Central. And now that ‘She’s Got the Look’ has been unleashed, Candlelight Red will be spreading the word with their just-announced live dates with Trapt!
